It is easily recognizable when you have arrived at Geger beach from Nusa Dua beach, as the Geger temple is clearly visible on top of the cliffs.

Getting to Geger beach

You can access Geger beach in one of two ways. First, you can walk directly to it from Nusa Dua beach. As Geger beach is basically the southern tip of Nusa Dua beach. You can easily see the Geger temple in the distance when standing on the beach at Nusa Dua.

There is basically a pathway that leads you almost all the way to Geger beach. There is just a small part you will need to traverse over the beach itself.

The second way is to access it from the top of the cliffs, where the Geger temple lies. You can park your scooter up there, and then there is a little walkway that gets you down from the cliffs right to the foot of the wave breaker.

The beachfront itself

Geger beach is a direct extension of Nusa Dua beach. As such, it is also one of the cleanest beaches and most pristine beaches in Bali. With its beautiful gold sand and super clear blue water.

The beach also lies directly in front of the Mulia resort.

Which is also easily recognizable from their amazing pools. With huge statues of ladies pouring water in the pools below.

But the beach itself is not visited that much by tourists. Which is odd. As it is a very family friendly beach. But most people you will come across are probably locals. As such, this beach can be considered as a real hidden gem.

The other clear landmark mentioned before is the Geger temple. Which lies right on the edge of the nearby cliff.

And in front of the Geger temple is the characteristic wave breaker.

Standing at the end of the wave breaker, will give you an amazing view over the ocean. With Nusa Penida clearly visible in the distance.

What to do

There are not that many things to do at Geger beach. The things you can do:

  • Chill at the beach: This beach is foremost a very family friendly beach. With shallow water and not very large waves. And the beach itself is super clean, with plenty of space. Therefore it is perfect for spending a quiet day, enjoying the sun and the ocean water, and having a bite to eat at any of the local warungs.

And that is Geger beach.
