The location

Binging beach is a bit of a special beach. And in a minute, you will see exactly why. Bingin beach lies on the western side of the Peninsula. In between Dreamland beach, and Padang Padang beach.

Getting to Bingin beach

Getting to Bingin beach itself can feel like an interesting little endeavor. First off, you’ll need to get to the entrance of the area. You can reach it by car, but best would be by motorbike. As it will be easier to park. Because there is a motorbike parking spot closer to the entrance.

If you are on your bike, and you see this sign…

turn back. Because you just missed the parking. Entrance by the way is free. But you will need to pay a parking fee of 5k IDR per motorbike.

From the entrance sign you will have to continue on foot. The path will lead you through some narrow corridors to a stairway.

And once you go around the corner, things will open up, and you will be able to look all the way out onto the ocean.

But you are not at the beach yet. You will have to find your own way down through the maze of little stairways. Walking down the little stairways will make it obvious why this place is so special. The whole look and vibe feels like you are somewhere in the Mediterranean.

There are many different little paths down, that branch of from the stairs you came in on.

So, you can try to figure out on your own what path to take down. But once you’ve beaten the maze of stairs, you will reach Bingin beach.

The beachfront itself

The beach itself is not a particularly large or beautiful beach. When you are there, you will probably notice that the sand grains are quite coarse, and that there are a lot of pebbles in the sand.

The beach is on one end closed-off by several larger boulders with trees growing on top of them.

And some pointy rocks on the other end of the beach.

But its charm comes specifically from its Mediterranean vibe.

You will find that the whole cliffside is filled with differently elevated bars, restaurants, and hotels. Who all provide a chill vibe and an amazing view over the ocean.

It absolutely amazes me how they build all of this on the side of the cliffs.

That is Bingin beach. It has a bit of a rocky side to it. But it is a great place to chill out on the beach, or enjoy the view from one of the many bars and restaurants on the cliff side.

What to do

There are a few great things you can do at Bingin beach:

  • Chill at the beach: You can chill at the beach. It is not a very wide beach, but there is plenty of space to lay down your blanket and enjoy the sun and the ocean water.
  • Surf: Like many of the beaches in the Peninsula, it is definitely possible to go out surfing in the waters here. But it is a bit more for the advanced surfer I was told.
  • Have a snack or drink and enjoy the view from a cliffside accommodation. There are many great bars and restaurants on the cliffside. And all of them offer an amazing view over the ocean.
  • Enjoy an amazing sunset. All the accommodations on the cliffside have an amazing view. Which is right in the western direction. So if you have some clear skies, you can enjoy an amazing sunset from here.

And that is Bingin beach.
